So today was a hectic day! Work was actually packed with things to do, from making sure payroll went through to making copies of tons of documents, to helping my boss choose the correct health care plan. I got off at 4:30 and headed straight to Soho to get a pair of slacks and a nice shirt for the dinner party mentioned in the title…
The party was set for 7:30pm on Mercer St and I got there promptly. The party was at the home of CampionPlatt and Tatiana Platt. Campion, who I just “googled” was recognized by Architectural Digest magazine as one of the top 100 designers and architects in the world. That’s awesome! Tatiana is a former senior executive of AOL and really just one of the nicest women I have come across as of late. Their home is beautifully decorated, well lit and tonight it was filled with very very cool people. Everyone I have been coming across recently has been pretty awesome. The guests included:
+ Miguelina Gambaccini + Tatum Kendrick + Antony Todd
+ Nina Griscom + Leonel Piraino + Gustavo Arango
+ Maggie Rizer + Conor Kennedy + Lucy Sykes
+ Keith Mitchel + Duncan Quinn + Susan Shin
Wow. I think it’s so awesome to meet nice people that are accomplished and still grounded enough to talk to the little guys like me. I had no idea I was among such interesting people, I am humbled. I knew they were all pretty creative…I gathered that much from the ways that they all decorated the “hats” at their table setting. Oh, did I forget to mention that at this dinner party everyone had a top hat they were to decorate? Oh man, some people had some crazy designs which made me laugh while other’s had designs that were astounding, which I guess now all makes sense. haha. My favorite two “hat designers” would definitely have to be Miguelina and Nina. The simplicity in their designs really drew me in, a factor I’m sure shows in their more professional work. I would love to work with any of these awesome guests. After looking at everyone’s personal work, I am just taken aback at the amount of skill and creative prowess the Soho penthoue held. I’m pooped now, so I’m gunna go to bed now, but I will put a few photos up to show you what was going on.
Nite nerds,
antwan.
