Okay, I was looking through WordPress and came across a blog that spoke about Madonna and her desire to adopt another Malawian child.

David Banda and Madonna
Her adoption of Malawian child David Banda was finalized on May 28th, 2008 after a year or so of controversy and fighting over whether she followed proper procedure in the Malawian adoption process.
Now she wants to adopt this young Malawian girl named Mercy.

Madonna wants Mercy.
I think it’s awesome that she is adopting children in general and I also commend her for adopting and pulling children from the jaws of extreme poverty in developing nations…but something bothers me..
Why hasn’t she chosen to pull a child from poverty here in her own country? There are some pretty poor areas in the U.S. and I think it’s a little odd that she hasn’t attempted to adopt a little American boy or girl. I mean, come on. The U.S. is full of children that need good homes and good parents and I think Madonna would be an ideal candidate for adoption. She would have no problem getting a little kid here. Why hasn’t she? According to Adoption.com, Florida has 950 waiting and deserving children up for adoption, Texas has 826 children, and so on and so on. Why not adopt someone in the states ? Kindness is kindness, yeah, I get that, but why not adopt a kid here?

This is Amy.
Take for instance this girl from Kentucky named Amy. Why not Amy? Or any of the other kids here in the states that need a home. Why go all the over to Malawi when the children right here need your help? I’m always confused as to why the people of this country pump out all this money into other countries when our own are in need of food, jobs, etc. It’s unsettling.
What do you guys/girls think?
I’m gonna go get a sandwich.
Later nerds,
antwan.
